Description
FIRE PROTECTION 04
FIRE PROTECTION 04
Fire protection and corrosion-proofing of reinforced concrete, metal and wooden structures at subzero temperature
Termion Fire Protection 04 is weatherproof anti-corrosion frost-resistant fire-retardant organic paint. The product looks like a viscous compound consisting of flame retardants, corrosion inhibitors, special additives, functional fillers and a few types of weather-resistant hybrid modified resins.
Working principle:
As it gets heated to +250°C, the coating swells up, shaping up a protective layer of carbon phosphate foamy coke. The foam prevents the structure from heating up to critical level and raises the fire endurance up to 90 minutes.
Termion Fire Protection 04 is non-reactive to other compounds. The product is available in plastic or metal containers with airtight lids. The product has successfully passed the certification for conformity with the Technical Regulation on Fire Safety (acc. to federal law No. 123 FZ dd. July 22, 2008).
Intended use:
Termion Fire Protection 04 is recommended for use in the construction of residential and industrial buildings, for fire-proofing of transport hub steel structures (outdoor as well as sheltered), and in the construction of public and production buildings with high humidity level.
The coating withstands large temperature variations (from -40°C to +60°C). Therefore, the material can be transported and used even at subzero temperatures.
Key benefits:
• Can be applied in outdoor industrial environments in moderate climate (U1) and indoors with high humidity level without using any additional protective layer for 10 years;
• Delivered as single-agent compound fully ready for use;
• Resistant to direct flame for up to 90 minutes;
• The coating ensures high maintainability if applied with Wagner and Graco machinery;
• Can be applied and transported at subzero temperatures (down to -40
• Finished coating is elastic and impact-proof;
• Attractive and esthetic appearance.
Application method:
- Mix well before using.
- The material can be applied manually (with a brush or a roll) as well as mechanically (using an airless sprayer).
- The recommended ambient temperature at application is between -40°C and +50°C.
- The base to apply the coating should be dry, free from dust, dirt, traces of rust and old coating residues.
- Before applying, the base has to be primed (GF-021; HEMPADUR MASTIC 45880; HEMPADUR 17410; HEMPADUR FAST DRY 15560; HEMPAQUICK PRIMER 13300 or other primers, in conformity with fire safety certificates).
- Use protective means such as goggles and breathing mask while applying the Termion Fire Protection 04. In case of the contact of the substance with eye mucosa or skin, wash the affected area in running water.
- The drying period before applying each layer is about 5 to 6 hours, and the final drying process takes up to 7 days.
Fire endurance of the Termion Fire Protection 04 (R30, R45, R60, R90) depends on the coating thickness. See Table 1 for the rated consumptions of the material at specific thicknesses of metal structures.

"TERMION FIRE PROTECTION" is a water-based intumescent paint with fire retardant properties
With an increase in temperature or fire exposure, the coating begins to swell and evaporate inert gases. As a result, a solid foam with low thermal conductivity appears, which not only does not support combustion, but also slows down its development. Oxygen is replaced by inert gases, the heat flow disappears, and the flame is extinguished.
For application, use a roller, brush or spray (airless).
